The Marmite Rally 6th & 7th June 2026

"The what rally?" you ask - well, it's basically sailing yachts taking motor boaters out and then motor boaters taking sailing yachties out to see "how the other half lives".

Sailing yachts will go out on Saturday 6th June with motor boaters on board then we'll have vice-versa on Sunday 7th.  For this to work we ideally need an equal number of sailing yachts and motor boats to book. When you book please check that you have selected the right type of boat i.e. sailing or motor, for both the skipper and the crew. We'll sort out who goes with who nearer the time but it should be a bit of fun! In each case where you go is up to the skipper, just get back to wherever you started from.

On Saturday evening we will book some places for dinner at The Creek or The Lightship (TBC). This will give us the chance to see what people think so far and compare notes.

By booking on this rally you are:

  * Committing to go out and take another crew with you on one of the days, subject to the weather of course, and

  * Committing to crew for another boat on the other day

We will assume you will join us for the evening meal unless you tell us otherwise by sending an email to events@haslaryachtclub.co.uk.  If you want to join us just for the evening meal you can book a "Social - no boat" ticket.

A Rally Lead will be available to help with questions and bookings, and there are a number of other roles (see Duty Roster below) where we need volunteers to help make the rally more enjoyable. Please take a look and if you can help with a role just click on "Volunteer" or get in touch with events@haslaryachtclub.co.uk and we can explain more details.

We advise monitoring Ch11 (Portsmouth Harbour) and Ch 12 (Southampton VTS) as appropriate together with Channel 16.
