New Members / Berth Holders Weekend 2026 » 1 day rally to Seaview Provisional

16th May  ·  Haslar Marina

Visit Seaview : Sea View Yacht Club

1 day rally to Seaview 16th May 2026

Our New Members and New Berth Holders event always attracts many existing members who love the format of a 1-day local rally followed by a social get-together. In the past we have anchored in Osborne Bay or Stokes Bay for lunch before returning to our home berth but this year we thought we'd try somewhere new and with an enviable reputation: lunch at Sea View Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight. They welcome visiting yachtsmen and yachtswomen who can use their mooring buoys to tie up and their launch service to ferry people to the restaurant on the seafront. On arrival we should tie up on Mooring Row B shown below.

New members, new berth holders and existing HYC members are all welcome to take part in one or all aspects of this weekend. During the morning you make your way on your own boat to the mooring buoys off Seaview for lunch there. Plan to arrive at about midday. After lunch you make your way back to your home berth.

Once back home, at about 5:30 pm we'll hold a "bring a bottle" pontoon party in Haslar marina (location TBC)

At 7:00 pm we'll hold an informal talk in the Haslar Marina office conference room on "How to enjoy Haslar Yacht Club" that will explain how we operate and how to get the best out of the Club. To find the conference room please use the labelled entrance door at the back of the office building, on the path that leads down to the marina gate.

In the evening, those who wish can visit The Creek or The Lightship (TBC) for a drink.

This will be the perfect opportunity to meet the Club committee members and find out about the Club, its activities and what membership can do for you.

When you book on this event you are reserving a place for lunch at Sea View Yacht Club's restaurant. You don't need to book if you just want to take part in the pontoon party, but it would help if you can send me an email to let me know you are coming.

We are keen to encourage boat owners in other local marinas to join the Club so please invite them along. They can register their attendance on the HYC website, they don't need to be a member to do this.

On Sunday there will be a trip to The Hovercraft Museum in Lee-on-the-Solent.
