Yarmouth May Day weekend Rally, 1st to 4th May 2026
This is a 3 night rally over the May Day bank holiday weekend. We visit the often very busy harbour of Yarmouth most years and always enjoy this lovely spot. There is often excitement to be had in watching other people manoeuvre! We will reserve some spaces together and some rafting-up is to be expected.
On your approach please call the harbour on VHF Ch 68 and say that you are part of the Haslar Yacht Club rally. Some of us have found that you have to get quite close to the harbour entrance to contact them by radio. The berthing crew are very helpful and will guide you in and can even help with a gentle push to get you berthed if you ask.
Friday evening: we will be holding a "bring a bottle" pontoon party at some point on the Friday evening but as we expect members to arrive at various times we will leave it to you to sort your own dining arrangements that evening. We can recommend The Blue Crab if you like fish and chips!
On Saturday evening we have booked places at The Wheatsheaf Inn in the town. They have looked after well in the past and it's only a short walk, we need to be there by 7pm. On Sunday we will be dining at 7pm at The Bugle Coaching Inn, another good pub in the town. Nearer the time we will need to pre-order our choices for The Bugle.
With HW Portsmouth at 12:08 BST on 1st May this should give you a favourable tide down the Solent towards Yarmouth. As a 3 night rally you will have a full day on Saturday to enjoy the Western IOW - see below for suggestions.
A Rally Lead will be available to help with questions and bookings, and there are a number of other roles (see Duty Roster below) where we need volunteers to help make the rally more enjoyable. Please take a look and if you can help with a role just click on "Volunteer" or get in touch with events@haslaryachtclub.co.uk and we can explain more details.
Things to do in and around Yarmouth include:
